PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Cross Country dominated the Pink Classic at Newman Golf Course, sweeping the team titles for the first time in the event's 21-year history.
The men won the 8K Red Race team title with 78 points, finishing ahead of second-place North Dakota State by 31 points. The men's title is their third overall and first since 2018.
The women followed suit in the 6K Red Race, prevailing with a minuscule 32 points. The Braves finished 89 points ahead of second-place North Dakota State while placing four runners inside the top seven and six inside the top 17. The women's title is their second overall and the first since 2019.
JD Rosslee placed second in the Men's 8K Red Race for the second straight year, clocking 23:43.78 in his first race for the Braves since late August. The time is the best by a Bradley man in Pink Classic history, surpassing his own mark from 2024 of 23:46.08.
Caleb Lind placed seventh with a time of 24:06.07, while
Jacob Trangmar placed 17th at 24:31.80.
The Women's 6K Red Race saw
Kaitlyn Sheppard lead the Braves again, finishing runner-up to North Dakota State's Reagan Baesler. Sheppard clocked a time of 20:27.86 in the team's first six-kilometer race of the season.
Abigail Hancock finished just behind Sheppard in third place at 20:34.21, setting a new 6K personal best.
Trixie Wraith (sixth, 20:41.15) and
Nadia Potgieter (seventh, 20:43.25) finished in the top 10, while freshman
Noelle Steines set a new personal best of 21:01.08 to finish 15th. In total, seven competitors in the 6K Red Race set personal bests.
