Kaboom! Awards: Varsity Club Most Outstanding Female Athlete

The 2021 Kaboom! Awards, presented by RE/MAX Traders Unlimited and supported by PNC, continue with Thursday's announcement that senior guard Gabi Haack has been selected as the Varsity Club Most Outstanding Female Athlete.

Bradley Women's Basketball has claimed three consecutive Varsity Club Most Outstanding Female Athlete honors with Haack following up back-to-back honors for former teammate Chelsea Brackmann and it's the fourth time in the last five seasons the award has gone to a women's basketball student-athlete.

The only three-time First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection in program history, Haack was named the MVC's Dr. Charlotte West Award Winner, given annually to the top all-around student-athlete in the conference in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence and service and leadership.

In addition to being named one of 30 national candidates for the Senior CLASS Award this past season, Haack was selected as the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She was second in the MVC in scoring at 16.5 points per game and sixth in rebounding (6.8 rpg) in 2020-21. Hitting a league-best 77 three-pointers this past year, Haack was 11^th nationally in three-point baskets.

Haack averaged 21.0 points per game and shot 42 percent from three-point range during Bradley's run to the first MVC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, capturing MVC Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors in the process.

Finishing the year second in career scoring at Bradley, Haack is 40 points from becoming the all-time leading scorer at BU and is the only player in MVC history to hit 60 or more three-pointers in four different seasons. She closed the year second in league history with 283 career three-pointers.

An elementary education major with a 3.81 cumulative grade point average, Haack became the first Brave to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in over a decade. She was one of two players in the country with 75 three-pointers, 190 rebounds and 60 or more assists last year and has started a school record 109 consecutive contests dating back to early in her freshman year.

Haack was selected for the award from among a pool of candidates which included Taylor Ledwein (women's golf), Sandra Maletin (tennis), Camryn Monteer (softball), Wilma Neilsen (cross country/track & field) and Hannah Thompson (volleyball).

The 2021 Kaboom! Awards, presented by RE/MAX Traders Unlimited and supported by PNC, resume this afternoon with the announcement of the Varsity Club Most Outstanding Male Athlete Award.
